It is well established in the body of psychological literature that what makes effective psychotherapy, more than any other factor, is the quality of the relationship between the client and therapist. I nurture strong relationships in which my clients feel safe sharing and exploring their lives. My therapeutic style is filled with authenticity, respect, warmth, empathy, and humor. I like to ask questions that make people reconsider what have seemed like life’s “givens.” I challenge people to take the risk to envision what is possible, and grow into their full potential.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist providing individual psychotherapy to adolescents and adults. I obtained a doctorate in clinical psychology from the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology.
I am licensed to practice psychology in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (9170) and I am a member of the American Psychological Association.
I have specialized training and experience with late adolescents and young adults. I particularly enjoy helping those individuals navigate identity issues (struggles with friends, dating, and sexual orientation) as well as developmental challenges (separating from home, thinking about college, increased independence). This stage of life is filled with many choices and changes, and we work together to overcome the hardships and maximize success.
I completed my post-doctoral training at the Cambridge Eating Disorder Center as a clinical case manager in the acute residential program. Through serving on a multidisciplinary team, I developed the belief that people at times express their complicated inner lived through their relationship with food. I strive to create a safe space in which clients can identify these underlying issues and use these insights to create new possibilities for themselves.
